Burlesque Downtown Underground's Under the Mistletoe

On Wednesday night a coven of burlesque queens descended on Union Station for an anything-but-traditional holiday show.

We speak of the ladies of Burlesque Downtown Underground who have returned with “Under the Mistletoe,” the bawdy, tongue-in-cheek troupe’s second annual Christmas extravaganza at H&R Block City Stage.

Madame, Ginger Snap, Sweet Louise, Foxy Roxy, Ms. Kitty, Puss-N-Boots, Betty Blonde and Gigi will do their PG-13 thing at 7:30 p.m. today through Saturday, with late shows at 10 p.m. Friday and Saturday.

Artistic director Marisa Mackay said the show includes a kick-line of “reindeer” in lingerie and antlers. We ask you: If that’s not postmodern, what is?
