Dita Von Teese was "really, really shy" before she took up stripping.
The burlesque beauty and ex-wife of rocker Marilyn Manson says she used to be so quiet her teachers thought she was mute.
Dita explains, "I was really, really shy. Like painfully shy. People thought there was something wrong with me because I couldn't speak.
"I didn't like to speak in class at school. I was really shy and they were always sending me to these speech classes to try to figure out where my voice was but I just didn't want to talk.
"I'm still a little bit like that now."
